AMP – Error in your Statment

 

One month after the tax year had finished and I got an email from AMP Bank

We'd like to let you know about an error that was shown in your last statement issued for the 2020-2021 financial year.

As you’ve chosen to receive communications online, we’ve sent you this email to let you know there’s a new update for your account. So your privacy is protected, you’ll find the full update in My AMP. Please take a moment to read it.

The news was that has miscalculated my tax income so I actually owed the Tax Office more than my Return stated. The bad news was I had already submitted this so I would have to resubmit the correction

I recalculated my tax and resubmitted my claim.

I then raised a claim with AMP for monetary compensation for this time of redoing my tax return., in which I was told to wait 21 days

19 days later I get an update , another 24 days!!!!

Our progress

We've acknowledged your complaint and are currently investigating the concerns you have raised with us.

We need some more time to investigate the matter further. We will aim to provide a resolution within 45 calendar days of when you raised your complaint.

I thought this was a bit silly considering it was a simple yes or no , so I responded with

I’ve waited 19 days , waiting an additional 24 days on top of that now I think is unacceptable with two days notice, so I am going to change this into an AFCA complaint if I don’t have an update by your original 21 day resolution SLA on the 9th September”

The next day I got the following response

After reviewing the circumstances of your complaint, we’d like to apologise for the incorrect interest information that was listed on your end of financial year statement.

We have reached out to our communications department and confirmed that this issue of incorrect interest information on AMP Bank Statements has been rectified. We apologise for the additional cost that you were charged by your accountant to rectify this issue, we will be crediting your AMP Saver account ending xxxxxx in the amount of $100.00 to compensate you for the inconvenience.

I have donated this money to a Afghanistan charity due to the current climate and issues
